About me
Welcome my name is Shyla Celeghin I am a trainee Multicultural Integrative Psychotherapist and therapeutic counsellor from the Metanoia Institute a provider of high-quality training in psychological therapies. My approach is deep rooted within the integrative framework. The main modalities I integrate in my practices are Psychodynamic, Transpersonal, Gestalt, Existential, Humanistic, Transactional Analysis, and Person Centred approaches .
I hold a BSc (Hons) Degree in applied Science in Psychology and completing my MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy . I am a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and adhere to code of ethics set by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I offer counselling and Psychotherapy online via Teams and Zoom .
I currently work within the charity sector as well as the private sector. I specialise working with trauma and anxiety, complex trauma and abuse, childhood neglect, sexual and domestic violence, workplace trauma, financial stress, low self-esteem, life transition, dissociation, addiction and working with cultural differences . I strive to create a welcoming and safe space where you can openly share and reflect on your experiences. My aim is to support you in discovering the changes you want to make while building resilience to manage life’s challenges. Whether you’re seeking short-term coping strategies or deeper, more reflective work, I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs.
I believe the relationship between client and therapist is key to successful therapy. I focus on building a strong connection based on honesty, integrity, and genuine empathy. Together, we’ll explore your past and present, work towards understanding your experiences, and guide you on a path toward healing and a more meaningful life.

My Approach to Mental Health and Diagnoses
I have experience working with a wide range of mental health concerns. However, I believe that not all difficult mental health experiences need to be pathologized or assigned a label. While diagnoses can sometimes provide clarity and guide treatment, they can also narrow the focus of therapy or contribute to feelings of stigma.
My approach is to work collaboratively with you, considering whether specific terms or labels feel useful or relevant. Together, we can reflect on the meaning of any labels and discuss how they might influence your experience. Ultimately, I aim to meet you where you are, respecting your preferences and focusing on what feels most supportive for your healing journey.
