Attachment & Relationship Issues
Unresolved attachment issues from childhood can make it challenging to form secure, fulfilling relationships in adulthood. Patterns of attachment developed early in life often continue into adulthood, affecting how we relate to partners, friends, and even our own children.
Insecure attachment styles are strongly correlated with difficulties in adult relationships, such as marital dissatisfaction and negative patterns of interaction. When an adult feels unsafe or uncertain in their relationships, they may respond by becoming distant and rejecting, or by becoming overly clingy and dependent. These patterns, while protective in childhood, can create barriers to intimacy and trust later in life.
In therapy, we can explore these attachment patterns together, helping you understand their origins and work towards developing healthier, more secure ways of relating to others.
